The
first and most important rule for anything in life is 'BE SAFE!'
Adventurequest prides itself on being the best when it comes
to safety. Our highly trained staff is well aware of all possible
dangers posed by the camps activities. Learning HOW to
be safe is the first step. At Adventurequest, not only is our
staff safe and responsible, we TEACH safety and responsibility
to all of our campers. A FUN camp experience is a SAFE camp
experience!
Adventurequest receives numerous staff inquires all year long.
This provides us with plenty of resources and time to review
resumes in order to select who we feel can provide a safe camp
experience. All new and returning staff receive extensive in
house training before they guide any trips. This training is
held in a camp setting, and covers a variety of camp scenarios.
All staff must have current First Aid and CPR certificates,
and pass extensive in house tests in these areas. All trip leaders
are at least twenty five years old, and are certified Emergency
Medical Technicians (EMTs).
Emergency plans and procedures are in place to ensure the best
possible care. Most of the time we are in a location where medical
facilities can easily be reached. However, sometimes we may
be in a back country setting where it may take some time to
reach
a medical facility. For this reason all lead guides carry cell
phones and SAR radios. Adventurequest is committed to providing
those in need with safe transport to definitive medical care
at the proper medical facility as soon as possible.
Top quality equipment, including helmets, is a requirement for
safety. All of Adventurerquests equipment is inspected
carefully before every season and replaced if necessary. We
guarantee a proper fit for everyone with all equipment we supply.
All campers receive thorough instructions and demonstrations
with each new activity. A safety outline is discussed with all
campers at the first camp meeting covering safety around camp,
with outdoor activities, group safety, etc...
